  • Medical Adviser – Paediatrics

Full time / Fixed term contract (3 years)

The Medical Adviser - Paediatrics is part of the Medical Unit team in the Sydney office. This position is involved in provision of medical support to the projects of Operational Centre Paris (OCP) group and has specific responsibilities regarding paediatrics, including the review of policy and training.

To be successful in this position, you will be a Medical Doctor with qualifications in paediatrics. You must be willing to travel regularly to the field and other MSF offices, have strong written and oral skills in English and French and the ability to work autonomously.

When large-scale epidemics occur, when areas in crisis are too dangerous for many others, then the MSF medical teams are there to ensure that the affected population can count on continual care being provided for their most basic health-care needs. They organize basic medical care, treat the injured, carry out vaccination campaigns, train local medical staff and build up medical infrastructure. In long-term aid projects MSF dedicate themselves to the fight against diseases like tuberculosis, malaria, sleeping sickness, and HIV/AIDS.

To support our medical aid operations throughout the entire world, we are actively recruiting Arabic-speaking healthcare & administrative staff in the following areas of specialisation:

  • medical doctors

  • surgeons

  • anesthetists

  • gynecologists

  • nurses

  • midwives

  • psychologists

  • financial officers

  • administrators

  • human resources specialists

  • technical logisticians

General requirements for all positions:

  • Degree / Diploma recognized by the authorities of the country

  • For healthcare staff, full and current registration with the relevant association/syndicate is required (e.g. medical association)

  • At least 2 years of relevant professional experience

  • Fluency in English and/or French

  • Availability of 9-12 months for your mission abroad for all profiles, except for gynecologists , anesthetists & surgeons (GAS) who require availability of 4 weeks to 3 months

  • Ability to work with limited resources and in difficult conditions

  • Information technology skills (especially excel)
