Clarification - MSF continues its work in eastern Chad
January 14, 2010
In a wire issued on Friday 13, November by the Associated Press, the UN spokeswoman Elisabeth Byrs is quoted as saying that medical organisation, Médecin Sans Frontières, is among 6 organisations having suspended their activities in Eastern Chad.
MSF wishes to clarify that it does continue to work in eastern Chad, currently running activities in four different sites. In August 2009, MSF suspended its activities in Ade, and since the kidnapping of an ICRC worker on the 9th of November, has reduced its staff in some project sites.
