Disclaimer by Doctors Without Borders (MSF) in Egypt
December 21, 2011
Medecins Sans Frontieres / Doctors Without Borders (MSF) is an international medical humanitarian organization present in Egypt since 2009.
Following its recent registration in country, the organisation is currently setting up projects to assist urban and rural populations.
MSF lays emphasis on its independence of all political, religious, military and economic parties. To ensure this complete independence, MSF relies on private donations from the general public.
The organization’s actions are guided solely by medical ethics and the principles of neutrality and impartiality. MSF does not take sides in armed conflicts or political settings and provides assistance to people based on their needs, without any ethnic, political, religious or economic discrimination.
Therefore, MSF firmly disassociates itself from any groups or local associations carrying similar or comparable names, and clearly demarks itself from the frequent inaccurate use of the “MSF” name to refer to other local Egyptian societies, even if done by mistake.
